Enrollment Analysis: American Indian students comprised 0.5% of De Soto Parish's student body in 2023-24 school year

There were 23 American Indian students enrolled in De Soto Parish schools in the 2023-24 school year, 4.5% more than the previous year, according to the Louisiana Department of Education.

Data showed that De Soto Parish welcomed 4,974 students during the 2023-24 school year. Among them, American Indian students comprised 0.5% of the student body to be the third least represented ethnicity in the parish.

Among the nine schools within the parish, Logansport High School recorded the highest enrollment of American Indian students in the 2023-24 school year, with a total of seven students.

According to a 2023 Scholaroo study, Louisiana's educational performance is among the lowest in the nation, ranking second-to-last behind Arizona. The state ranked poorly in key metrics such as school quality, student achievement, and teacher-student ratios.
