Graduates earn 260 degrees from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center-Shreveport

About 95.8 percent of the 260 degrees and certificates handed out by Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center-Shreveport in 2017-18 were to students in health professions and related programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Shreveport conferred 157 doctor's degrees and 74 master's degrees in health professions and related programs.

But the single most popular program was for a doctor's degree in medicine. Data shows the school gave out 122 doctor's degrees in medicine, followed by 35 doctor's degrees in physical therapy/therapist and 34 master's degrees in physician assistant.

The university enrolled 890 students for 2017-18, including 28 in undergraduate programs and 862 in graduate programs.
