On June 25th, 2023, around 1:55 a.m. Shreveport Police patrol officers were called to theft in progress in the 4200 block of Greenwood Road. While in route, officers were informed that a witness could see an individual attempting to steal a catalytic converter from a parked vehicle.

As officers arrived on scene the suspect fled on foot but was eventually caught. Once caught, the suspect resisted and attempted to disarm the officer, causing the officer to deploy a Taser to take the individual into custody.

The suspect was identified as Anthony Briskey (2-20-77). Briskey was charged with one count of theft of a catalytic converter, one count of resisting with force or violence, and one count of attempting to disarm a police officer.

After the conclusions of this investigation Shreveport Police Property Crimes Detectives were able to determine that Briskey was also involved in a May 5th, 2023, burglary in the 100 block of East Dalzell Street. On May 5th Shreveport Officers were contacted by a victim who observed two males inside of her garage taking items.

The victim followed one of the men as she contacted police. The victim stated that a male, later identified as Anthony Briskey, struck her in the face with a plastic crate. Officers did note that the victim had significant swelling to the face. In reference to this case, Briskey was charged with one count of aggravated battery and one count of simple burglary.
