Caddo Parish, LA – The Parish of Caddo is pleased to announce it is the title sponsor of the 2022 Shreveport Classic.
Formerly known as the Red River Classic, the matchup began in 1911, and is returning after a hiatus since 2016.
“We are excited to welcome the Shreveport Classic to our area, and specifically Caddo Parish,” said Parish Administrator Dr. Woodrow Wilson, Jr. “The Classic has a long history of great football and great sportsmanship, and we know this year will be no different. We look forward to welcoming both Grambling and Northwestern teams, their families and fans for an enjoyable time in Caddo Parish,” said Wilson.
"We are thrilled to partner with the Parish of Caddo as our title sponsor for this outstanding game between Grambling State University Northwestern State University,” said Grambling State University Vice President of Intercollegiate Athletics Dr. Trayvean Scott. “This game has such great tradition and we are excited to bring Tiger football to the City of Shreveport and Caddo Parish," said Scott.
The Shreveport Classic will feature the Grambling State University Tigers (home) vs. the Northwestern State University Demons. The game will be held Saturday, September 10 at Independence Stadium in Shreveport, Louisiana. Kick off time is 6:00pm.
