Speaker Johnson has expressed his congratulations to Senator Marco Rubio for being chosen as the Secretary of State. In a statement, Speaker Johnson highlighted Rubio's extensive experience in foreign affairs and his efforts in the Senate to protect Americans from threats posed by adversaries like China, Russia, and Iran.
"Senator Rubio is one of the most thoughtful leaders on foreign affairs in all of government," said Speaker Johnson. He noted that Rubio has been instrumental in countering the influence of these nations, which he described as supporting "Communist dictators who traffic fentanyl and give safe haven to terrorists in our hemisphere."
Speaker Johnson further emphasized the shift in American leadership under President Trump and Marco Rubio, stating, "We can all rest easier knowing that with President Trump and Marco Rubio, the sun has set on the America-last status quo and a new day of strong American leadership has dawned."
