Gonzales, LA - River Parishes Community College (RPCC) hosted Rougarou Fest with BASF on Thursday, June 23rd from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Gonzales Campus.
Rougarou Fest consisted of games, music, free food, campus tours, and opportunities to meet with instructors to learn more about the programs, degrees and scholarship opportunities like the MJ Foster Promise Program, TOPS and more. The community also had the opportunity to apply to RPCC in-person with the help from the admissions department.
“All of us at River Parishes Community College hope that the community comes out to Rougarou Fest ’22 to explore all the educational opportunities we offer,” said Lillie Murphy, RPCC’s Foundation Director. “RPCC offers short-term training as well as associate degrees and those credit courses that transfer to four-year degrees. With community partners like BASF, RPCC truly is the place to start here and geaux anywhere!”
This event was sponsored by BASF and is open to anyone looking to explore the programs, courses and training opportunities offered at RPCC. Enrollment and financial aid specialists were on-site to provide information and assistance to access the many funding opportunities available.
“As BASF and our community continue to grow, so does our need for professionals in a variety of fields,” said Jerry Lebold, Senior Vice President and General Manager of BASF’s Geismar, Louisiana site. “By partnering with RPCC to train current and future technical team members, we are able to hire locally for high-demand, high-wage careers and build our pipeline of talent through apprenticeships, internships and scholarships.”
