WASHINGTON — Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) announced the winners of the 2023 Congressional App Challenge for Louisiana’s 4th Congressional District. The winners, all students from Caddo Magnet High School in Shreveport, were selected by a panel of four judges, comprised of professors from local universities.

The first-place app, called AI Guard, was designed by Caddo Magnet seniors Guangjun Wang and Kelvin O’Young. This app serves as a plagiarism detector that identifies AI-generated content. Speaking about their app, Wang and O’Young said, "We are thrilled and honored to have won the Congressional App Challenge. AI Guard has the potential to revolutionize the way we detect plagiarism, and we hope it will be useful to students and educators."

The second-place app, called SBOTS, was designed by Kevin Zhao. The third-place app, called Conversion Calculator, was designed by Vasu Arora. And the fourth-place app, called International Problems, was designed by Titus Waller.
