381 students were enrolled for 9th grade in De Soto Parish schools in 2021-22 school year

There were 381 ninth grade students enrolled in De Soto Parish schools in the 2021-22 school year, 5% less than the previous year, according to the Louisiana Department of Education.

North DeSoto High School welcomed the most ninth grade students in the parish.

Within De Soto Parish schools, the most students were found in 10th grade classes, while fourth grade classes were the smallest.

Statewide, De Soto Parish ranked 30th lowest in enrollment numbers, the same as the year before.

In 2022, there was roughly one teacher for every 18 students, compared to the national average of 1:16.
