On June 5th, 2023, around 1:10 p.m. Shreveport Police Officers were contacted in reference to an incident that occurred in the 6200 block of West Canal Boulevard. Police were called to reports of a male assaulting a female. During the assault, the father of the victim intervened and shot the suspect.
Detectives responded and found that during a domestic dispute between Jeremy Lewis (1-13-92) and a female, Lewis took car keys from the victim and was reportedly reaching for a firearm when the female’s father fired shots striking Lewis.
Lewis was transported to a local area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Lewis was ultimately arrested and charged with one count of Simple Robbery and one count of Battery of a Dating Partner. The female’s father has not been charged at this time.
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
