Caddo Parish issued the following announcement on April 4.
Caddo Parish, LA — The Parish of Caddo will celebrate National County/Parish Government Month (NCGM) during the month of April to showcase how Caddo Parish achieves healthy, safe and vibrant communities.
The theme for this year’s celebration of NCGM is “Counties THRIVE,” demonstrating how counties and parishes help to improve people’s lives every day, especially for local government workers on the front lines of the coronavirus pandemic.
“The Parish of Caddo is proud of the programs and services we provide to our residents,” said Parish Administrator Dr. Woody Wilson, Jr. “Our efforts combined with efforts of parishes across the country are helping American communities respond to public health needs and the countless other needs of our citizens,” said Wilson.
Since 1991 the National Association of Counties (NACo) has encouraged counties and parishes across the country to raise public awareness and understanding about the roles and responsibilities of parishes.
During the month of April, the Parish invites citizens to stay connected and learn more about the functions of Parish government and the services it provides. The Parish maintains an active presence on social media and encourages individuals to follow the official Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/parishofcaddo) for updates and public information. Additionally, the Parish hosts a monthly webisode called “Pulse of the Parish”, which airs every first Friday of the month at 12:00 noon on Facebook. The webisode features segments on Parish departments and services and upcoming events in Caddo Parish. The segments are also available on demand.
Citizens are also encouraged to stay informed by attending Caddo Parish Commission meetings, or viewing them live stream via the Parish’s website (caddo.org), or at the Parish’s Facebook page.
