Of the 27,289 people living in De Soto Parish in 2019, 51.3 percent (13,991) were women and 48.7 percent (13,298) were men, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained by the Shreveport Reporter.

Females 18 and over outnumbered males in the same age group by a ratio of 8,196-to-7,700. In the 65 and over age range, there were 2,634 females and 2,065 males.
