35% unemployed in Bossier City in 2017

Medium names 15

35 percent of Bossier City residents between 16 and 65 years old were unemployed in 2017, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The percentage of unemployed residents was less than the statewide total of 40 percent for this demographic group. In 2017 the total Bossier City population reached 52,339.

Out of 34,016 people who had a job, 4,062 were employed in the Armed Forces and 29,954 belonged to the civilian labor force.

The total unemployment numbers include residents of all ages who are not working.
