Speaker Johnson announced that House Republicans have passed two legislative measures aimed at reversing energy rules set by the Biden Administration. The actions were taken under the Congressional Review Act, with the intention of removing what they describe as restrictions on American energy.
"House Republicans passed legislation to remove the Biden Administration’s handcuffs on American energy and protect American workers, consumers, and businesses," said Speaker Johnson. He added that their efforts align with the Trump Administration's goals to restore energy dominance in America. According to Johnson, these steps include addressing an EPA rule affecting the rubber tire manufacturing industry and opposing what he calls "radical unnecessary energy efficiency standards."
The two pieces of legislation adopted are H.J. Res. 61, which aims to reverse impacts on America's tire industry, and H.J. Res 42, which seeks to halt perceived overreach in energy efficiency standards.
Speaker Johnson emphasized their commitment to assisting President Trump in implementing his energy agenda. "We will continue helping President Trump implement his energy agenda to ensure lower costs, create jobs and restore consumer choice," he stated.
