House Republicans have taken legislative action to reverse certain energy policies implemented by the Biden Administration. Utilizing the Congressional Review Act, they aim to align with former President Trump's America First agenda.

Speaker Johnson expressed support for two key resolutions passed by the House this week. The first, H.J. Res. 35, seeks to repeal what Republicans describe as a burdensome natural gas tax introduced under Democratic leadership. According to Speaker Johnson, "House Republicans rolled back the disastrous natural gas tax imposed by Democrats." He further criticized the policy for increasing energy prices and dependence on foreign sources without achieving environmental benefits.

The second resolution, H.J. Res. 20, targets the Biden Administration's restrictions on gas-fired water heaters. Speaker Johnson stated that this measure is part of an effort to reduce costs and expand consumer choices: "House Republicans voted to end the Biden Administration’s radical ban on gas-fired water heaters." He emphasized that these actions respond to public demand for lower costs and more options in energy solutions.

Both resolutions reflect a broader Republican strategy to dismantle regulations perceived as harmful to domestic energy production and economic growth.
