This morning, Speaker Johnson appeared on Fox and Friends to discuss the initial two weeks of President Trump's return to office. He also provided updates on the House Republicans' budget reconciliation plans and previewed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's upcoming visit to Washington.
Speaker Johnson expressed enthusiasm about President Trump's actions during his first 14 days back in office. "Look, we're excited about everything that President Trump is accomplishing. He's done more in 14 days for the American people than Joe Biden did in four years," he stated. He highlighted several executive actions including border security and energy policies, adding, "It’s win after win after win."
Regarding budget reconciliation, Johnson noted its importance for bypassing the Senate's 60-vote threshold. "That's where a lot of the big changes are going to be made," he said, emphasizing negotiations for savings and increased revenue through tariffs.
In anticipation of Prime Minister Netanyahu's visit, Speaker Johnson underscored U.S. support for Israel during this critical period in the Middle East. "Everyone in the world needs to know that America stands with Israel," he affirmed.
