The House of Representatives has passed the H.R.471 Fix Our Forests Act, a legislative measure aimed at enhancing forest management and wildfire prevention. This decision comes in response to the ongoing wildfires in California.

Speaker Johnson commented on the passage of the bill, stating, "The House passed the Fix Our Forests Act because good leaders prepare for emergencies. The current California leadership failed to prepare for the ongoing wildfires and chose to prioritize far-left climate policies over efficient forest management and wildfire prevention."

Johnson credited Representative Westerman for his role in advancing this legislation, emphasizing that it reflects a common-sense approach to governance. "Thanks to the leadership of Rep. Westerman, the House is governing by common sense so we can restore the health of our forests and make communities more resilient to these disasters," he said.

This legislation had previously been approved during the 118th Congress.
