Speaker Johnson appeared on Fox and Friends to discuss the recent terror attack in New Orleans, expressing his confidence in the ongoing federal investigation. He emphasized the importance of justice for those affected by what he described as a "vicious attack on innocent Americans celebrating New Year's." Johnson mentioned his discussions with Governor Jeff Landry and Attorney General Merrick Garland about the investigation's progress, noting that numerous FBI agents are actively involved.

Johnson criticized the Biden Administration's approach to border security, linking it to national security concerns. He argued that Congressional Republicans have repeatedly raised alarms about potential threats stemming from what he called a "wide-open border." Johnson referenced the impeachment of DHS Secretary Mayorkas over related issues and criticized Senate Democrats for not advancing H.R. 2, which he described as "the strongest border security act ever passed by Congress."

Regarding the upcoming Speaker vote, Johnson expressed gratitude for endorsements from President Trump and other conservative leaders. He stressed the urgency of starting Congress's work immediately, highlighting tasks such as certifying President Trump's election. Johnson noted the narrow margin for tomorrow's vote but remained optimistic about securing enough support.

Johnson emphasized that with unified control of the White House, Senate, and House, Republicans are poised to advance their agenda beginning immediately.
