Speaker Johnson has called on the Senate to vote on the Illegitimate Court Counteraction Act following the International Criminal Court's (ICC) issuance of arrest warrants for Israeli officials, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant.

"The ICC’s decision to target America’s ally, Israel, is antisemitic, reprehensible, and completely ridiculous. It has absolutely no jurisdiction over Israel or the United States, and these illegitimate warrants are an attack on the very concepts of sovereignty and due process," stated Speaker Johnson.

He urged immediate action from the U.S. Senate and President Biden to prevent enforcement of these warrants. "The U.S. Senate should vote immediately on the bipartisan Illegitimate Court Counteraction Act, and President Biden should take clear steps to prevent these warrants from being enforced. If Senator Schumer and President Biden do not act now, they will most assuredly invite future lawfare against Israel and the United States. We cannot afford to show weakness," he added.

Previous statements by Speaker Johnson on this issue include remarks made on June 4 regarding House sanctions against the ICC, a statement from May 20 about ICC's request for arrest warrants for Israeli officials, and an April 29 statement concerning potential ICC arrest warrants for Netanyahu and other Israeli officials.
