This morning in Washington, Speaker Johnson, alongside Leader Steve Scalise, Whip Tom Emmer, and NRCC Chairman Richard Hudson, addressed the media following the Republican Party's successful bid to secure a majority in the House of Representatives. This victory marks a complete Republican control of Washington.

During his remarks, Speaker Johnson emphasized the commitment to advancing President Trump's agenda in the upcoming 119th Congress. "This leadership team will hit the ground running to deliver President Trump's agenda," Johnson stated. He expressed optimism about America's future, stating, "We believe that that is true. We believe in our hearts that America's best days are ahead of us."

Reflecting on their campaign efforts, Johnson highlighted their extensive outreach across over 250 cities and 40 states. The hard work paid off as they managed to flip several blue seats to red while maintaining their majority. He noted that some races are still pending but remained optimistic about expanding their majority.

Johnson commented on voter sentiment during the elections: "It's true that on Tuesday, voters rejected what they really felt was the misery of the last four years." He stressed a new beginning for America under Republican leadership and an "America First" approach.

The Speaker outlined key priorities for the new Congress, including securing borders and lowering costs for essential goods like groceries and gasoline. He also emphasized restoring America's global strength and ending radical ideologies in education and government.

As Republicans prepare for unified government control starting January, Johnson praised both incumbent members who secured reelection and newcomers who contributed to maintaining the House majority. He specifically mentioned new members such as Tom Barrett and Ryan McKenzie among others who flipped districts from blue to red.

While some races remain undecided in states like Alaska and Arizona, Johnson assured that every legal vote would be counted. Looking forward, he expressed confidence in delivering on an ambitious agenda aimed at economic growth, border security, energy dominance restoration, educational freedom implementation, and government reform.

Concluding his address with a reflection on past lessons learned since President Donald Trump's 2016 election victory when precious time was lost due to lack of preparedness by Republicans back then; he vowed not repeat those mistakes again saying: “We are prepared this time…we'll be ready take ball run full speed.”
