"Chairwoman Elise Stefanik is an outstanding selection to serve as Ambassador to the United Nations, where she will be tasked with undoing four years of failed, incoherent foreign policy decisions that weakened America’s standing on the world stage," said Speaker Johnson. He noted her extensive background in foreign and national security policy as key assets for her new role.
Johnson expressed personal sentiments regarding their time working together. "Elise has been a dear friend and colleague, and we will miss her presence in this chamber," he stated. "She is a fighter, and President Trump could not have chosen a more capable person to represent American interests abroad."
