After addressing the New York Stock Exchange, Speaker Johnson appeared on Fox & Friends to discuss various pressing issues. He expressed concerns about the Biden-Harris Administration's approach to Iran, urging them to support Israel amid ongoing attacks.
Johnson stated, "Let me just point back to the President and the Vice President. They have put us in this situation. They've tried to appease Iran with their policies." He criticized their failure to enforce sanctions, claiming it empowered Iran. "We're on the verge of World War III," he warned, emphasizing the need for strong leadership.
Discussing Hurricane Helene's aftermath, Johnson highlighted Congress's recent allocation of $20 billion to FEMA for disaster recovery. "It'll take a while. It'll take 30 days or more for them to assess that," he noted, stressing the importance of prioritizing federal spending amidst a $35 trillion debt.
On the dockworkers strike, Johnson urged negotiations and criticized what he termed as a "hands-off approach" by the administration. He attributed economic challenges to "Bidenomics" and inflation, affecting workers' ability to provide for their families.
Johnson pointed out declining union support for Democrats, noting Kamala Harris's reduced lead among union members compared to 2020. He remarked on its potential impact on the economy and rising costs for struggling families.
