On Friday, Speaker Mike Johnson’s office, in collaboration with the Bossier Clerk of Court, will be organizing a passport fair for Louisiana residents. The fair aims to assist individuals in renewing or obtaining their passports and is particularly targeted towards those who have upcoming travel plans outside of the country. The purpose of this event is to ensure that Louisiana residents can travel smoothly, avoiding any potential passport emergencies.

In anticipation of the summer travel season, Speaker Johnson’s office is taking proactive measures to prevent a backlog of passport applications. The U.S. State Department experienced a significant influx of passport applications during the summer of 2023, with an average of 400,000 to 500,000 new applications received each week. This surge in demand often resulted in processing windows of 10 to 12 weeks.

For those interested in attending the passport fair, the Bossier City Clerk of Court has provided detailed information regarding the required documents and other essential details. The event will take place on Friday, February 16, from 10AM to 2PM at the Bossier Parish Courthouse, located at 204 Burt Blvd, Benton, LA 71106.

The fair will be staffed by members of Speaker Johnson's team, as well as the Bossier Clerk of Court staff. They will be available to guide and assist attendees throughout the process.

In case of any inquiries or concerns, individuals are encouraged to contact the Bossier City Office at 318-840-0309.

This passport fair presents an excellent opportunity for Louisiana residents to ensure their travel plans go smoothly and to avoid any potential delays. By taking advantage of this event, individuals can save valuable time and effort in acquiring or renewing their passports.
