Description

The Bossier Sheriffs Office is once again partnering with Keep Bossier Beautiful for "Operation Clean Sweep Cleanup & Crawfish"to clean our streets and neighborhoods all through the parish on March 18, 2023. We want this to continue to be a collaborative cleanup effort for all Bossier Parish.

"Operation Clean Sweep" T-shirt, trash bags, and disposable gloves, which will be available for registered volunteers to pick up at the Viking Drive Substation starting Monday March 13 through noon on Friday, March 17.

Bring all trash collection to Viking Drive Substation by 11:30 a.m. on March 18.

Last year we had a tremendous turnout with 755 registered volunteers. Thanks to all who helped, we were able to collect 27,680 lbs. of trash and junk along with 7,860 lbs. of metal that was recycled. Because of all of our effort, Keep Bossier Beautiful was awarded the 2022 Outstanding Affiliate Award out of 40 possible affiliates. This is a great accomplishment for Bossier Parish.

For our continued success with this endeavor, we need your help to organize and lead groups in your areas of influence to pick up trash on the morning of Saturday, March 18? We want Neighborhood Watch Groups, businesses, churches, clubs, organizations, school groups, and individuals to join us. This event has been scheduled for the weekend prior to the BAFB Air Show as there will be approximately 100,000 visitors here for that event.

We are asking residents and groups to clean up in their own neighborhood/subdivision and bring all the collected trash to the Viking Drive Substation by 11:30 a.m. on March 18. There will be a large dumpster provided by Waste Connections, Inc., North Louisiana, and you can enjoy lunch with crawfish, hamburgers, and hot dogs, as well as group photos.

Clean streets and neighborhoods in Bossier Parish help to reduce crime. Curb appeal isn't just about looks...it's about less crime and more pride. Also lending their support for our clean-up day are Waste Connections, Friends of Bossier Parish Law Enforcement, Inc., Sysco, Citi Tele Coin, Sierra Frac Sand, Inc., Lamar Outdoor Advertising, Shane's Seafood & BBQ, Farmers Seafood, Bossier Parish School Board, BAFB, Bossier Parish Police Jury, KBB, City of Bossier City, Office of Lt. Governor and Louisiana Seafood.

Any questions contact Lynn at LBryan@KeepBossierBeautiful.com or (318) 525-2249, or with the Sheriff's office at (318) 965-3409.
