87 percent of applicants to Louisiana State University-Shreveport were admitted for fall 2018

At Louisiana State University-Shreveport, 73 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 60 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in Shreveport enrolled 7,036 students in fall 2018, including 2,511 in undergraduate and 4,525 in graduate programs, data shows. 15.1 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

93 percent of undergraduates are residents of Louisiana, and 4 percent are residents of other states. 3 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (53 percent) and Black or African American (20 percent).

The school admitted 87 percent of the 712 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 48 percent enrolled.
