Speaker Mike Johnson, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Louisiana’s 4th district since 2017, recently shared several updates on his Twitter account. The tweets covered a range of topics including hosting media personalities, trade agreements, and legislative support for immigration enforcement.
On June 16, 2025, Speaker Johnson tweeted about welcoming Steve Doocy from Fox News to the Capitol. He mentioned giving Doocy a tour of some of his favorite places around the Capitol and encouraged followers to watch the coverage. “Last week, I welcomed @SteveDoocy with @Foxnews to the People’s House! I gave him a tour of some of my favorite places around the Capitol.”
Later that day, Johnson highlighted a significant trade agreement in another tweet. He described it as “A HISTORIC trade deal,” emphasizing its importance in advancing President Biden’s agenda to address unfair trade practices and stimulate economic growth. “This agreement represents an important step in @POTUS’s agenda to put an end to unfair trade practices, grow our economy, and bring home American jobs.”
On June 17, 2025, Johnson addressed legislative matters concerning immigration enforcement. He expressed support for ICE agents through what he referred to as the “One Big Beautiful Bill,” while criticizing Democrats for their stance on immigration issues. “While @HouseGOP stands WITH @ICEgov agents through the One Big Beautiful Bill, Democrats are fighting FOR dangerous illegal aliens and violent rioters and AGAINST ICE agents.”
Mike Johnson has been serving in Congress since replacing John Fleming in 2017. Prior to this role, he served in the Louisiana House of Representatives from 2015 to 2017. Born in Shreveport, Louisiana in 1972, he now resides in Benton. Johnson is an alumnus of Louisiana State University where he completed his BA in 1995 and JD in 1998.
