Speaker Mike Johnson, U.S. Congressman representing Louisiana’s 4th district since 2017, shared a series of posts on social media highlighting recent events and legislative actions.
On July 31, 2025, Johnson posted about honoring World War II Army Rangers with the highest Congressional award. He wrote, “One of the true highlights of this summer was finally awarding the highest Congressional honor to some of World War II’s bravest soldiers: the United States Army Rangers. The following day, August 1, Johnson reflected on his annual engagement with young people interning at Capitol Hill. In his post he stated, “One of my favorite events each summer is speaking to Capitol Hill interns about the functions of Congress and the foundations of our republic. Later that same day, Johnson commented on changes regarding federal funding for media organizations: “PROMISES MADE, PROMISES KEPT The days of the American people being forced to fund biased political outlets ARE OVER. https://t.co/1KHogux4o4”.
Mike Johnson has served in Congress since replacing John Fleming in 2017 and previously held office in the Louisiana House of Representatives from 2015 to 2017. Born in Shreveport in 1972 and currently residing in Benton, Johnson holds both a BA (1995) and JD (1998) from Louisiana State University.
