Speaker Mike Johnson, U.S. Congressman representing Louisiana’s 4th district since 2017, posted a series of updates on July 19, 2025, addressing the legacy of Ed Feulner, his recent interview with Miranda Devine, and legislative efforts in Congress.
In a post from early morning on July 19, Johnson paid tribute to a prominent figure in the conservative movement: “God bless the extraordinary legacy of Ed Feulner, and his singular influence upon the conservative movement. Praying tonight for his family and all who mourn his loss. ‘Onward. Always.'” (July 19, 2025).
Later that day, Johnson shared an update about participating in an interview: “I enjoyed sitting down with Miranda Devine this week. Her questions were very insightful.” (July 19, 2025).
By evening, Johnson discussed new legislative measures aimed at economic relief: “We called it the One Big Beautiful Bill because there’s something in it for everyone: No tax on tips No tax on overtime Tax relief for seniors Higher take-home pay for families Increased economic growth This is how you deliver for the American people.” (July 19, 2025).
Mike Johnson has represented Louisiana’s 4th District in Congress since replacing John Fleming in 2017 and previously served in the Louisiana House of Representatives from 2015 to 2017. Born in Shreveport in 1972 and currently residing in Benton, Johnson holds both a BA and JD from Louisiana State University.
