Speaker Mike Johnson, currently representing Louisiana’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, has used his social media platform to highlight recent Republican legislative efforts and respond to criticism from Democrats.
On July 21, 2025, Johnson wrote, “Republicans are GETTING IT DONE for the American people. The One Big Beautiful Bill delivers nearly $1.6 trillion in savings, historic tax relief, a secure border, and energy dominance. This is what real leadership looks like.”
The following day, he expressed support for Representative Garbarino’s new role: “House Republicans know that @RepGarbarino will serve as a steady hand at the helm of the House Homeland Security Committee as Congressional Republicans and the Trump Administration continue our work to restore law and order at our borders following four years of neglect and”
Later on July 22, Johnson addressed Democratic criticisms regarding transparency: “Republicans won’t be lectured on ‘transparency’ by the same Democrats who orchestrated one of the most shameless and dangerous cover-ups in history – Biden’s obvious mental and physical decline. When they claim they’re for transparency, roll the tape. They lied to the American”
Mike Johnson has served in Congress since 2017 after replacing John Fleming. He previously was a member of the Louisiana House of Representatives from 2015 to 2017. Born in Shreveport in 1972 and currently residing in Benton, Johnson holds both a BA (1995) and JD (1998) from Louisiana State University.
