Speaker Mike Johnson, U.S. Congressman representing Louisiana’s 4th district since 2017, used his social media platform in July 2025 to highlight recent political developments and draw sharp contrasts between the Republican and Democratic parties.
On July 20, Johnson stated, “JUST SIX MONTHS into President Trump’s second term, America is safer, stronger, and more prosperous. We’ve cut taxes, secured the border, ignited the economy, and put America First at home and on the world stage. And we’re just getting started. “
The following day, he referenced the prior year’s presidential debate: “A year ago today, President Biden’s disastrous debate performance ended his re-election campaign and exposed the largest political cover-up in U.S. history. As House Republicans investigate the scandal to bring accountability, the American people should never forget how far” (posted July 21).
Later that same day, Johnson criticized current Democratic Party leadership: “This isn’t your parents’ Democratic Party. It’s now a radical, far-left movement with a completely distorted view of America. Democrats only engage in meaningless political PERFORMANCES while Republicans are busy DELIVERING real positive results for the American people.” (posted July 21).
Mike Johnson has represented Louisiana’s 4th District in Congress since 2017 after serving two years in the Louisiana House of Representatives. Born in Shreveport in 1972 and currently residing in Benton, he earned both his undergraduate and law degrees from Louisiana State University.
