Speaker Mike Johnson, U.S. Congressman representing Louisiana’s 4th district since 2017, posted a series of statements on his Twitter account regarding recent legislative and executive actions under President Trump.
On July 22, 2025, Johnson wrote: “The American people gave President Trump a clear mandate and House Republicans are delivering. 50 executive orders ENACTED. Border SECURED. Taxes CUT. Waste SLASHED. This is real, lasting change families will feel in their paychecks, their neighborhoods, and their future.”
Later that day, on July 23, he commented on an economic agreement between the United States and Japan: “I was with President Trump in the Oval tonight as he negotiated this historic deal! It was a master class! This deal with Japan will bring a $550 billion investment in America, hundreds of thousands of jobs, and a huge increase in trade between our two countries.”
In another post on July 23, Johnson referenced recent legislative progress: “With the One Big Beautiful Bill, @POTUS’s America First agenda is now the law of the land. Thanks to my @HouseGOP colleagues, we got it done for the American people. Much more to come!”
Mike Johnson has served in Congress since replacing John Fleming in 2017 and previously held office in the Louisiana House of Representatives from 2015 to 2017. Born in Shreveport in 1972 and currently residing in Benton, Johnson holds both undergraduate and law degrees from Louisiana State University.
