Speaker Mike Johnson, currently representing Louisiana’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, has recently shared a series of statements on social media addressing national policy and political developments. Johnson, who has served in Congress since 2017 after succeeding John Fleming and previously held office in the Louisiana House of Representatives, commented on legislative priorities and reflected on recent historical events.

On July 13, 2025, Johnson declared: “America First is now the LAW OF THE LAND. We’re investing in border security, rebuilding our military, and sending a clear message to our enemies: peace through strength is BACK – and so is AMERICA.” This statement was made as he outlined current governmental initiatives focusing on border security and military investments.

Later that day, Johnson marked an anniversary with the following post: “One year ago today, God miraculously spared the life of President Trump, and He is using him to lead our county back to greatness.” The comment references an event involving former President Trump that occurred one year prior.

In another update posted on July 13, 2025, Johnson addressed fiscal policy efforts by stating: “The One Big Beautiful Bill was just the FIRST step toward fiscal sanity. Next up: Advance MORE rescissions packages; Pass reduced, responsible spending levels; Start the NEXT reconciliation bill; Continue codifying MORE of President Trump’s executive orders House”. This outlines legislative plans related to government spending and regulatory changes.

Mike Johnson was born in Shreveport, Louisiana in 1972 and currently resides in Benton. He graduated from Louisiana State University with a BA in 1995 and earned his JD from LSU in 1998.
