Mike Johnson, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Louisiana’s 4th district since 2017, has been vocal on several issues through his recent tweets. Johnson, who succeeded John Fleming and previously served in the Louisiana House of Representatives from 2015 to 2017, shared his thoughts on law enforcement, fiscal policies, and international religious freedom.
On June 9, 2025, Johnson expressed concern over lawlessness in Los Angeles, advocating for the passage of the One Big Beautiful Bill. He emphasized that this legislation is crucial as it provides essential funding to secure national borders. Additionally, he assured that Congress would support ICE agents dedicated to maintaining American safety.
The following day, June 10, 2025, he highlighted Republican values such as life support and prosperity. Johnson mentioned a feature of the One Big Beautiful Bill called ‘Trump Accounts,’ which proposes a $1K contribution into a tax-deferred account for every eligible American child as a financial head start.
Later on June 10, Johnson congratulated Vicky Hartzler on her election as chair of the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom. He noted the commission’s bipartisan nature and its significant role in safeguarding fundamental rights.
Mike Johnson was born in Shreveport, Louisiana in 1972 and resides in Benton. He graduated with a BA from Louisiana State University in 1995 and earned a JD from the same institution in 1998.
