Speaker Mike Johnson, U.S. Congressman representing Louisiana’s 4th district since 2017, posted a series of statements on July 18, 2025, regarding recent political developments involving former President Donald Trump and legislative action at the White House.

In a post from the morning of July 18, Johnson addressed ongoing criticisms of Trump: “President Trump and I spoke this morning about the latest ridiculous smear. The truth? President Trump is the most attacked political figure in American history and still the most resilient. The more they come after him, the stronger he gets.”

Later that day, Johnson highlighted new legislation signed into law by Trump: “We made history again at the White House today as President Trump signed the GENIUS Act into law. This new act lays out a groundbreaking, pro-growth framework for stablecoins that will fuel innovation, protect consumers, and keep America on top in the digital economy. Smart”

In another statement posted in the evening, Johnson commented on findings related to past investigations: “DISMANTLING THE DEEP STATE! New evidence from @DNIGabbard confirms what we’ve long known: The Russia hoax was a political hit job manufactured by Obama officials and weaponized by intel agencies to take down President Trump. Accountability is long overdue!”

Mike Johnson has represented Louisiana’s 4th District in Congress since 2017 and previously served in the Louisiana House of Representatives from 2015 to 2017. He was born in Shreveport, Louisiana in 1972 and currently resides in Benton. Johnson graduated with a BA from Louisiana State University in 1995 and earned his JD there in 1998.
