Speaker Mike Johnson, U.S. Congressman representing Louisiana’s 4th district since 2017, announced on social media a series of legislative actions by House Republicans in July 2025. The posts highlight new measures related to cryptocurrency innovation, government spending reductions, and defense appropriations.
Continuing the theme of fiscal responsibility, Johnson posted on July 18: “President Trump and House Republicans promised fiscal responsibility and government efficiency. Mike Johnson has represented Louisiana’s 4th District since replacing John Fleming in 2017 after previously serving in the Louisiana House of Representatives from 2015 to 2017. Born in Shreveport in 1972 and currently residing in Benton, Johnson holds both a BA (1995) and JD (1998) from Louisiana State University.
