Speaker Mike Johnson, a U.S. Congressman representing Louisiana’s 4th district since 2017, posted a series of messages on social media in early April 2026 addressing major religious and national events.
On April 1, Johnson extended holiday wishes to the Jewish community, stating, “Wishing our Jewish community across the nation and around the world a meaningful Passover, and a safe and peaceful celebration. Chag Sameach!”
Later that day, he congratulated NASA’s Artemis II crew following their launch. In his post dated April 1, Johnson wrote, “Congratulations to the Artemis II crew and the @NASA team on this successful launch. Our nation is watching proudly, and we pray for a safe and successful mission. The sky’s the limit for America’s Golden Age under President Trump’s leadership.”
On April 3, Johnson acknowledged Good Friday with a message to Christians worldwide: “Today, Christians around the world observe Good Friday. We call it ‘Good Friday’ because what seemed like the darkest day led to the greatest gift of all time — the resurrection of Jesus Christ, His triumph over sin and death, and the gift of eternal life offered freely to all”.
Mike Johnson has served in Congress since replacing John Fleming in 2017 after previously serving in the Louisiana House of Representatives from 2015 to 2017. Born in Shreveport in 1972 and currently residing in Benton at age 51, Johnson holds both undergraduate and law degrees from Louisiana State University.
