Speaker Johnson released a statement following President Donald Trump’s address to Congress. In his speech, Trump presented his vision for renewing the American Dream and highlighted achievements from his initial weeks in office. According to Speaker Johnson, “President Trump made his triumphant return to Congress to share his bold, optimistic vision for renewing the American Dream.”
Johnson noted that after four years of policies under President Biden, Trump has moved swiftly to restore what he terms as “American greatness.” He stated, “In just over one month, President Trump has taken action to dramatically decrease border crossings to historic lows, deport criminal illegal aliens, bring down fuel costs, reshore American jobs and industries, invite hundreds of billions of dollars in new investment, and reestablish peace and stability around the world.”
The statement concluded with Speaker Johnson expressing optimism about working with President Trump. “House Republicans look forward to working with President Trump to continue delivering record-setting success for the American people,” he said.
