Toni McAllister, a small business owner from Winn Parish and Executive Director of the Louisiana Logging Association, was invited by Speaker Johnson to express her support for the bill. Speaker Johnson stated: “The One Big Beautiful Bill is so important literally to every sector of the US economy…we chose the letter L as our theme today.” He introduced Toni McAllister as a representative of logging businesses in Louisiana.
McAllister shared her perspective: “For years small businesses like ours with our team of 30 hardworking employees have carried the weight of this governmental system that often seems to grow on the backs of small businesses and middle-class families like mine.” She expressed gratitude towards President Trump and House Republican Leadership for prioritizing changes that benefit hardworking Americans.
She highlighted specific provisions within the bill: lowering effective tax rates for American production, increasing permanent small business deductions, doubling immediate expensing options, and reducing reporting burdens. Furthermore, she appreciated investments in border security included in the bill. As a sheriff’s wife, she valued efforts to support law enforcement officers by enhancing community safety measures.
