Ahead of the expected passage of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, Speaker Johnson addressed the House floor, emphasizing the importance of swift action and urging consideration by the U.S. Senate.

Speaker Johnson’s remarks highlighted what he sees as a historic moment for America, after “four long years of President Biden’s failures,” stating that “President Trump’s America First agenda is finally here.” He believes this legislation will positively impact the daily lives of Americans such as “the Dallas waitress pulling overtime, the Detroit mom counting bills late at night, [and] the Kentucky coal miner waiting on his second chance.”

Johnson outlined several key components of the bill: reviving the economy, delivering tax relief, investing in border security, and strengthening national defense. He asserted that it would also restore government common sense and secure generational savings while supporting essential programs like Medicaid.

“This One Big Beautiful Bill is the most consequential legislation that any party has ever passed,” Johnson declared. He credited former President Donald J. Trump for leadership and acknowledged various committee chairpersons who contributed to crafting the bill.

Johnson emphasized teamwork within his party, noting that “every single member had a say in this” and highlighting their collective effort over more than a year to bring this legislation forward. Despite media skepticism and opposition narratives, he expressed confidence in delivering results.

He concluded with an appeal to Senate colleagues: “The President is waiting with his pen. The American people are waiting for this relief.” He urged prompt action to have it ready by July 4th.
