Pierremont Healthcare Center was identified as the second largest nursing facility in Caddo County throughout the first quarter of 2026, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) reports.

Records indicate the facility offered 180 available beds, which is 56 above the county average for the period. The average daily resident count at Pierremont was 117.2.

The CMS assigned Pierremont Healthcare Center an overall rating of 1 out of 5, placing it below Louisiana’s average nursing home rating of 2.5 at that time.

Highland Place Rehab and Nursing Center was the largest facility in the county, with 227 beds during the quarter, while The Guest House Skilled Nursing Rehabilitation took third with 177 beds.

By the end of the first quarter of 2026, Pierremont Healthcare Center had accumulated $431,489 across five fines and incurred five penalties.

Caddo County, Louisiana, hosted a total of 18 for-profit nursing homes during this period.

U.S. Census Bureau estimates indicate that the number of older Americans continues to rise while younger population groups are declining. From 2020 to 2024, citizens age 65 and older grew by 13%, contrasted with a 1.7% decrease among those under 18. During the last century, the older adult population expanded dramatically, rising from 4.9 million in 1920 to over 61 million by 2024.

A 2021 study estimated that nearly half of Americans in this age group—close to 28 million—may eventually need long-term services and supports, with projections suggesting that more than a third could require care at nursing facilities.

“Living a long life is something that many of us want and could get,” said Jesse Slome, executive director of the American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance. “But when we live a long life, the chances of us needing long-term care increase exponentially. But when you need that type of care, there are limited options.”
