Mike Johnson, a current member of the U.S. Congress representing Louisiana’s 4th district since 2017, recently shared his views on several political developments via social media. Johnson, who succeeded John Fleming in Congress and previously served in the Louisiana House of Representatives from 2015 to 2017, has been vocal about legislative efforts and economic progress.

On July 2, 2025, Mike Johnson emphasized the importance of congressional action following President Trump’s efforts to secure the border. He stated that “President Trump KEPT HIS PROMISE to secure the border. Now Congress MUST do its part.” He urged for the passage of what he referred to as “the One Big Beautiful Bill,” calling on his colleagues at @HouseGOP to act decisively.

The following day, July 3, Johnson reiterated his call for immediate legislative action. He declared that “The time is now! President Trump is waiting with his pen.” Johnson expressed confidence that delivering the bill would provide much-needed relief to Americans.

Later on July 3, Johnson highlighted positive economic indicators by noting four consecutive months of job growth surpassing expectations. He tweeted that “That’s FOUR STRAIGHT MONTHS of job numbers EXCEEDING expectations.” He anticipated further economic improvement with the expected signing of “the One Big Beautiful Bill.”

Mike Johnson was born in Shreveport, Louisiana in 1972 and currently resides in Benton. A graduate of Louisiana State University with both a BA and JD earned by 1998, he has established himself as a significant figure within Congress.
