Mike Johnson, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Louisiana’s 4th district, has been vocal on social media about recent legislative developments. Johnson succeeded John Fleming in 2017 and has been a prominent figure in promoting the America First agenda.
On July 3, 2025, Johnson announced via Twitter that “The One Big Beautiful Bill: Passed Signed Heading to President Trump’s desk to become law.” He emphasized the bill as a source of “much-needed and much-deserved relief for hardworking Americans.”
Following this announcement, on July 4, 2025, Johnson criticized Joe Biden’s remarks regarding the bill by stating that “Joe Biden’s talking points on the One Big Beautiful Bill are as old and tired as he is.” He asserted that the legislation would help rebuild what he perceives as damage done during Biden’s tenure and claimed it would make America “safer, stronger, and more prosperous.”
Later on July 4, 2025, Johnson expressed gratitude towards President Trump with a message saying “Thank you, Mr. President! It’s my great honor to work with you every day to help implement the America First agenda.” He highlighted Trump’s leadership in enabling Congress to pass what he described as a “truly historic ONE BIG BEAUTIFUL BILL,” reaffirming his commitment to fulfilling their promises.
Mike Johnson was born in Shreveport, Louisiana in 1972 and currently resides in Benton. A graduate of Louisiana State University with both a BA (1995) and JD (1998), he served in the Louisiana House of Representatives from 2015 until his election to Congress.
