The One Big Beautiful Bill is progressing as part of President Trump’s Peace through Strength agenda, emphasizing America’s leadership through military power. The bill aims to enhance national security and ensure the United States maintains a strong global presence.
Speaker Johnson highlighted the significance of the legislation amid global threats. “While Congressional Democrats feign concern about the safety and wellbeing of U.S. service members, House Republicans are working to deliver legislation that actually accomplishes that and supports them,” he stated. He emphasized the importance of getting this “once in a generation opportunity” to President Trump’s desk promptly.
The bill includes a $25 billion investment in missile defense systems to protect against hypersonic missiles and other aerial threats from adversaries such as China and Iran. Additionally, it allocates $8.5 billion for improving servicemembers’ quality of life, covering military housing improvements, healthcare services, educational opportunities, and support programs for military families.
Further investments include $34 billion for expanding naval capabilities, $21 billion for munitions production and critical minerals, $13 billion for modernizing nuclear forces, $11 billion for enhancing Indo-Pacific force readiness, and $7 billion for advancing next-generation aircraft and autonomous systems.
In summary, Speaker Johnson stressed that “The One Big Beautiful Bill is critically important and urgent to guarantee America’s ready, capable, and lethal fighting force.”
