Six months into the Trump Administration, Republicans in the 119th Congress have taken significant steps to advance President Trump’s America First agenda. The House GOP has passed legislation to codify 50 of President Trump’s executive actions.
“The American people gave President Trump a clear mandate to enact his America First agenda – and House Republicans are answering that call. To date, we’ve voted to codify 50 of the President’s Executive Orders into law, from reining in waste, fraud, and abuse, to cutting bureaucratic red tape that has strangled America’s innovators, job creators, and entrepreneurs,” said Speaker Johnson. “The last four years under President Joe Biden made painfully clear how quickly progress can be undone unless Congress steps in. That’s why House Republicans are working around the clock to codify President Trump’s executive actions and enshrine his historic agenda into law.”
The executive actions passed by the House include measures such as preserving election integrity, deregulation for prosperity, imposing sanctions on international bodies like the International Criminal Court, expanding American timber production, and protecting communities from criminal aliens.
Other notable actions include ending taxpayer subsidization of open borders, ensuring safety in Washington D.C., advancing U.S. interests through funding strategies for nongovernmental organizations, withdrawing from certain international organizations like the World Health Organization and U.N., reevaluating foreign aid policies, restoring freedom of speech by ending federal censorship programs, securing borders against illegal immigration threats, and declaring national emergencies related to energy and border security.
Additionally included are efforts to expand American energy production capabilities including coal and Alaskan resources; initiatives for healthcare improvement; strengthening digital financial technology leadership; reforms in education accreditation; reducing federal bureaucracy; addressing synthetic opioid supply chains; enhancing military readiness; and promoting merit-based opportunities.
These legislative efforts reflect an ongoing commitment by House Republicans to solidify key aspects of former President Trump’s policy framework within U.S. law.
