Speaker Johnson issued a statement following the House’s approval of H.R. 4016, the FY26 Department of Defense Appropriations Act. He emphasized that the bill showcases America’s strength both domestically and internationally.

Johnson highlighted that “the House’s passage of the FY26 defense appropriations bill helps display America’s strength at home and abroad.” He noted that with recruitment levels reaching record highs during the Trump Administration, the bill ensures military forces remain capable and lethal.

The legislation includes provisions for a pay raise for troops, border security measures, and equips warfighters with advanced tools to address global threats. It also supports servicemembers and their families through investments in healthcare, training, and military family services while preventing taxpayer dollars from funding initiatives such as DEI programs, abortion travel, and gender-transition procedures.

“This bill reflects President Trump’s Peace through Strength agenda,” Johnson stated, “and it puts America’s strength, security, and values first.”
