A public hearing is scheduled by the City of Bossier City to discuss potential changes to local property tax rates. The meeting will take place at the Bossier City Municipal Complex, City Council Chambers, located at 620 Benton Road, Bossier City, on Tuesday, September 9, 2025 at 3:00 p.m.

The notice states that the hearing is being held in accordance with Article 7, Section 23(C) of the Louisiana Constitution and LA R.S. 47:1705(B). During this session, city officials will consider levying additional or increased millage rates without further voter approval or adopting adjusted millage rates after reassessment. The proposed action would allow for rolling forward to rates not exceeding the previous year’s maximum.

If approved, the estimated amount of tax revenues to be collected from the increased millage would be $18,375,978. The increase in taxes attributable specifically to the millage hike is projected at $1,040,150.
