Today, Speaker Mike Johnson and Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries issued a joint statement regarding member security. The leaders emphasized the importance of swift and bipartisan action to ensure the safety of all members and their families.

“We had a very productive meeting and recognize the urgency of acting quickly, decisively, and in a bipartisan manner to ensure the safety and security of all Members and their families,” they stated.

The statement also mentioned that Chairman Bryan Steil and Ranking Member Joe Morelle from the Committee on House Administration will work with relevant committee leadership to “aggressively chart the path forward and implement change.”
